The mod was inspired by Total Character Makeover and is composed of similar mods. The following authors have contributed with their mods below.

If all NPCs have pale skin (even those that in vanilla have dark skin) then that's definitely a bug. (And I personally prefer WICO to TCO - I used TCO for a while and honestly didn't really like it - but if you think TCO is better, then good for you.) true.

I can't speak to all the versions, but the USSEP compatibility patch from the vanilla body version of WICO copies all of the ACBS sections of every NPC it touches from the USSEP. The only NPCs that are flagged Protected or Essential who are not that way in vanilla Skyrim are ones that the USSEP makes protected or essential. As a base, I'm deciding between Inhabitants of Skyrim and WICO, but definitely leaning towards WICO.
