Starting of Nioh 2 I decided to main dual swords but was wondering what weapon was best to have as a secondary. In the first I really liked katana and kusarigama. Dual Swords for yokai bosses. Odachi for human bosses like Ren and Saito. The katana really does go with everything.

Shuten Doji is crazy good after the buffs. Super quick animation, defense bonus on amrita absorption (so basically 100% uptime), and it gives pleiades + extraction buffs on cast. The ability itself isn't very strong, but it's still an instant burn status on any enemy that isn't fire resistant.
