Hopefully this will also toggle your AlienFX keyboard lights off and on.

In my case, and the OP's case, the computer has turned on which in turn activates any devices connected. It is some software that is waking the computer and in my case it is Command Center. Specifically after having issues with it being on the phone with Dell multiple times and having them install the new version.
