When I took the surgery shelf, as is the case for most other people I talked to, the majority of the content tested was content covered in the UWorld medicine section. I heard about this from a few people above me so I just spent half the time studying UWorld medicine questions and the other half doing surgery questions.

I religiously complete all the videos for a section and all the Uworld questions for a particular rotation. Keep in mind these are the free videos. TBH, after buying those practice exams, I don't find the NBME explanation super helpful. Most of the time, they give you a 1-liner reason for why the answer is right and then repeat that 1-liner in the "concept to learn" portion at the end of the explanations. If you are expecting UWorld level explanations, the NBMEs won't provide that.

IN DESPERATE NEED OF HELP WITH TAKING SHELF EXAMS!!! I really need help on how to improve on taking shelf exams. I barely passed my EM shelf and I feel like I am doing literally everything that I am supposed to be doing to do to succeed. For this shelf, I did ALL of UWorld and all of the incorrects.
