Brian. Yes Stihl makes a tool that screws into the threads with a bolt that screws down on the crank and it forces it off. You can get this tool on Ebay or at a dealer for about 20 bucks. It is well worth having this tool if your going to be working on Stihl saws. Here's a link to one on Ebay.

So real low, but above zero is good. Real hi (megohms) is bad. You're checking the resisitance of a relatively short thicker wire so it has low resistance.

Fuel tank caps also tend to give up with age. Remember that this saw model was last made in 1993, a measly 24 years ago.Jul 1, 2017. #7. I can't recall doing a Super but it should work. Logged. April 22, 2010, 08:45:27 PM. My 25 yr old Stihl 028AV just started spitting gas back out of the carburetor and flooding the filter, when running at mid to high throttle. Filter gets wet and saw won't run right until its dried out. Doesn't happen at idle. High speed screw adj doesn't seem to matter. Nothing is clogging the exhaust system.
