I have the ody touring for 2 years, and until yesterday that I noticed that my power tailgate won't automatically open after I press the tailgate release button on the tailgate. The button on the dashboard and the key both work, they can both open the tailgate.

It refuses to open from either the key fob, the button on the dashboard, or the button on the door itself unless the car is on and for a few minutes after it is powered down. The close button on the door is also very fickle. Is there something I am doing wrong or is this a common issue? I’ve checked the fuses, and they appear fine.

I found that the fuse is in the rear of the car, near the third row power outlet. Pulling out the 40A tailgate motor fuse effectively disables the power tailgate functionality; I just moved it to an unused slot in the fuse box.
