You need to damage the walls/gate to get in. Hitting it with melee weapons, shooting it or grenades are the best. It takes a long time to get in. If you go for a gate hit the top or bottom section until the panels fall off then hit the frame until this breaks then the lock will fall off and the gate can be opened.Got hammer nails and plank, saw, whatever tool you need.
