A lot of people recommend Oanda here for beginners, especially with limited capital, but their spreads look terrible I'm new and currently trying to set up a paper trading setup as I'm reading and learning as I go. So in a lot of ways I've heard good arguments that Oanda is a good brokerage to start, especially for low cash volume ( eg ).The disadvantage is that contract sizes are larger than retail fx. Most contracts are $100k and "mini" contracts are not 1/10 of a full like fx. They vary from only 1/2 to 1/4, so you need a much larger account size.
