Ram Year. 2003. Engine. Hemi 5.7. Hello Everyone--I am new and just found this site. I have a 2003 ram 2500 with 5.7 hemi. About 2 months ago I went to use my work truck. It started up but wouldn't shift out of park. I did a little research and found I could unplug the connector near brake switch and it would would shift out of park.

Took it into the dealership today and on my way there same thing happened only this time it wouldn't let me shift to park and I had to turn the truck off and restart it. ( in the middle of a three lane highway no less) Dealer said that nothing was coding and it didn't happen on their test drive so they don't know what the problem is.

Mine were not tightend to spec. Tech put on a scanner, with in 1 hour had the issue solved and tightend the eyelets to the ground bolt.

Once out of park I have no issues. Brake pedal light switch works. When it won't go into park I don't hear the solenoid engaging in the steering column.
