Winchester = fast and light. Mossberg = reliable with lots of customization options. Benelli = it's a Benelli. Seriously though, smooth, 3.5" chamber standard, solid mechanical functionality, and easy to swing. I just bought a mossberg 500 myself. Waiting for it to show up.
Sure, the Remington 870 feels better and isn't as loose and noisy as the Mossberg 500 when cycling it, but if I was in the market for a pump shotgun it would be a Maverick 88 or Mossberg 500/590. Is there a Walmart near you? They usually have the Mossberg 500s for $227. I prefer the Nova over the 500 because it is virtually indestructable. $250 for a used Nova is a bit much. Have you tried haggling with the shop. $200 is more in the ballpark for the Nova, IMO. I have bought several 500s for $100-150 in really good shape.Coupled with the fact it's a lighter platform and typically produces less felt recoil than a 12, it's not surprising more hunters and shooters are opting for a 20-gauge shotgun. The Remington 1187 or Mossberg 930 might be an alternative. The 590 is to the Benelli Nova Tactical as the 930 is to the M4 tactical. Just a thought. As for the M4 vs Saiga, the key trade off is the magazine system. Detachable magazines allow for more rounds loaded at a time, better weight balance, and faster reloading.

Any way she only shot about 20 rounds before baging it up. I bought her the skeet choke for the 835. It shoots a little softer but not near as soft as my Nova w/ the recoil reducer.
