Dec 6, 2022. #2. My 2022 MYP made 12/2021 had the same exact noise when new. Noise vanished around 5,000 miles. Other threads in model y forum say this is a sticker on the wheel Which protrudes out and rubs against something. One person took car to tire shop which saw the sticker. Eventually sticker gets shredded. I have a similar set up as OP with different style wheels, I've noticed a 5-10% drop in range on trips. On Las Vegas to So Cal run sometimes I have to stop at a supercharger sooner than I used to with stock set up. Hated the rims so was going to upgrade but at that point it was just another $2K for the MYP so we pulled the trigger on the MYP. Quality: MYP was flawless. No panel gaps, scratches, dent's, interior damage, etc. Don't let the reddit posts regarding complaints about quality make you second guess any Tesla. Is there a chance something is wrong? Yes, but this is the truth with any car. Seems as though Tesla has made up for previous years of bad quality.

So I may need to make a decision soon, so I can then wait a few more months. :-) Speed wise, the difference in 0-60 times between MYP and MYLR with accel boost is ~0.5 seconds. Something to consider. MYLR+Boost is the best value Tesla out there in my opinion.

The Uber T's have grown on me for my MYP and wife's M3P but if going with a lighter wheel option and not having to down size the wheels to get a more range sounds tempting. To be honest the acceleration boost is “so sufficient” (to put it mildly) that I am 100% happy with this combo - the acceleration differences versus the MYP are minimal at this point (see bottom table below).
