To make a short story long. We bought a 2014 duramax with blown motor, with egr def delete. We bought a motor I was told it was a lml. Ended up being a lgh, out of a cab chassis 2013, everything matched up other then one egr plug. But being as egr is deleted it shouldn't be a huge deal, the truck cranks but won't fire up.

When it goes into reduced engine, the ECM turns off the injector on the cylinder that is knocking, and it goes away. Guessing you can figure out which cylinder it is by turning off injectors with a scan tool.1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the FRP sensor connector. 2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. 3. Observe the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor parameter with a scan tool The fuel pressure should be 200 MPa (29,000 psi). If the fuel pressure is 0 MPa (0 psi), test the FRP sensor signal circuit for a short to ground.The duramax engine has a long history of breaking cranks at that location. This is so much of a common issue that people have created cam shafts with altered firing orders to try to remove the stress from that point on the crank. Plenty of stock trucks have broken cranks like this.
