We spent this past Christmas at Disney World. We were at Polynesian from 12/15 to 12/23 and then spent the next 4 days at Grand Floridian Beach resort. It exceeded all my expectations. The resort is elegant and gorgeous. I hated to leave. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed. Staff was both courteous and helpful.The deluxe resort pricing structure (highest to lowest): Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary, Yacht/Beach & Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge & Animal Kingdom Lodge. The five pricing structures take into consideration amenities, location, room size, and transportation. Was here with daughter, son-in-law and 2 boys 3 and 6 years. Excellent facilities, travelling to Magic Kingdom by both monorail and boat was sooo easy. Nothing was too much trouble for staff.
Reviewed July 20, 2014. Imagine our surprise when my retired military husband and I discovered Disney's incredible deal of 40% off rates at the Grand Floridian! We had never been to Florida and were taking our first Disney trip without kids for our 30th anniversary when we booked this hotel. And GRAND it is.

We are DVC owners at Copper Creek so we stayed on DVC points. We were in a newer DVC villa in the Big Pine Key building. The room - Gorgeous! Loved the decor. Driving up to the front door of the resort, we were greeted by, at least three cast members, all welcoming us (there were also 3 of us in the party) to the Grand Floridian.
