XD. points better, and has a grip safety in addition to the useless trigger safety found on both guns. also, XD will likely be cheaper, and Glock 40's don't have nearly as good a rep, as the Glock 9mm's. just my $.02....unless it's an EDC, I'd move on up to the XDm .40.

The 19 holds more rounds. I've had the Springfield XD sub 9mm, a Glock 26 and 19. The biggest problem with the 26 is the lack of said a rail (why that's the case is beyond me; it would easily fit), which the XD has. As someone who's had and shot the lot, the grip angle on the XD is more in line with my liking. And the grip safety?

In terms of their sizes, these two guns are nearly identical in length and weight.Glock is tried and true, you can't go wrong with them. XD is a bit more recent but it seems equally as good. I personally, don't like the XD. Grip safety was uncomfortable, and in my hand the weight was unbalanced. Glock take down can be done in literally 2 seconds, XD is about 10.
