Took the Pediatrics NBME yesterday - my $0.02. As the title says, I took the Peds NBME yesterday and I wanted to leave my experience with it because there's relatively little out there. I thought the exam was 20% actual pediatrics-specific and 80% general medicine that applies to all patient populations. There were only 5 questions on milestones.

When I took the surgery shelf, as is the case for most other people I talked to, the majority of the content tested was content covered in the UWorld medicine section. I heard about this from a few people above me so I just spent half the time studying UWorld medicine questions and the other half doing surgery questions.

Honored everything else. After covid hit, just became a totally shit student. Barely study, do the minimum requirements, spend all my time playing video games and working out at my parents' house. Passed my last 2 shelf exams in the 40s, but the covid clerkships are pass-fail only so family is the only one biting me in the ass. Just make sure to thorougly go through the questions though. Took it last month, and the questions were easier than Uworld. UWorld felt like a lot of "zerbas" questions (things you will never see in practice or on the Shelf. I do like their explanations, so I read them and added the ridiculously rare cases to my notes, but I wouldn't break down ... My dad passed away during this rotation and I got into a car accident and my mental health hasn't been the greatest. I only was able to get through half of surgery UW so far, took a lot of notes but my scores aren't the best. Should I prioritize finishing UW or not finishing UW and doing NBME 5-8?
