The jellyshroom cavern is very resource rich. You can ferry the stuff back from the Prawn to base by Seaglide or Seamoth, you can remove and recharge the cells at the base, and keep exploiting the Jellyshroom cavern until you get the grapple arm. Temporarily stuck there doesn't mean useless.
