For scarring I only had to get my left snake bite re done and the scarring was very minimal you can't even see the scar unless you look very close at it. For a vertical labret the scarring is different if you decide to take it out, it look like a lil round spot, although I've never retired my vertical labret so i don't know how it would like on me.
