Triple Seven pellets under a sabot with a 250 gr. XTP, and I can regulate the .45-70 to hit the same POI as the Huntsman. That cuts out a little second guessing.This is the only powder I used when loading my Colt in .44 Special and .44 Mag. The Lyman book I just picked up has loads for the 45-70 using 4227. If you load it to little you cause a high pressure problem, if you load it to much you cause a high pressure problem. Hodgdon does not even list a load with it. Personally I would not use Lil-gun in my 45-70.H335 is an excellent powder and is my "go to" powder for my 52-55 gr jacketed bullet 223/5.56 loads along with 125 - 150 gr jacketed bullets in the 30-30 and 308Ws. With cast, H335 is excellent as long as you have the bullet mass and pressure level so it ignites and burns efficiently.
